    Try The Riffstation

Three Apps in One, An Awesome Practice Tool

    by Simon James.

I was in college today with some time to kill so I thought that I would do a bit of research into some practice apps as I would like to incoorporate my own one into this website at some point. Whilst browsing I came across the riffstation and, without doubt, it's one of the best that I have seen so far.

It's designed so that you can just play along to whatever track you want to learn and it's really easy to use but what is so cool about it is that it has three main features that you can use and combine with one another all rolled into one piece of software.

First up is the Jam Master, which allows you to extract a riff, adjust volume and tempo and set real time loops.

Then there is the Riff Builder, which allows you to customize your own riffs and backing tracks using the audio of the track you have selected. This is one of the coolest things i have seen, as you can take an audio of say ACDC and then rearrange it to make your own track using the original audio's sounds. These can then be shared with friends and used to practice or teach with.

The third app, is the Chord Finder, which calculates the chords you are playing and displays them in the finder.
